Emotional Health and Wellbeing

Wellbeing Ambassador:  Mrs S Williams

Mrs Williams is our school lead in Emotional Health and Wellbeing.  She has completed the  Public Health Authority (PHA) Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training.

MHFA training is PHA accredited training which involves teaching participants how to recognise the symptoms of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and psychosis.

Following completion of the training, all delegates become part of the EA Mental Health First Aider Network.

As a whole school community we are currently engaged in the 'Being Well, Doing Well' project.

The Being Well Doing Well (BWDW) programme is part of The Children & Young People’s Emotional Health & Wellbeing in Education Framework.

The programme aims to support our school  to develop a Whole School Approach to Emotional Health and Wellbeing by giving us an Emotional Health & Wellbeing Framework to assist us in assessing our current practice, identifying needs and implementing actions to develop the emotional health and wellbeing needs of everyone within the school.

Positive Emotional Health and Wellbeing outcomes reduce pupils barriers to learning and enhance their readiness to learn.

Happy, emotionally healthy children learn.
