Primary Five and Six
Welcome to Primary 5/6 where we are currently diving into the fascinating world of water, exploring the water cycle and the three states of matter.
Guided by the enthusiastic team of Miss Shave and Mrs. Crooks, who are assisted by the gifted Mrs. Douglas, Mrs. Strong, Mrs. Maze, Miss Dent and Mrs. Patterson, the children engage in a variety of active learning activities.
They conduct experiments to observe evaporation, condensation, and precipitation and use everyday items to understand solids, liquids and gases. We learn about Grace Darling, the RNLI, and lighthouses through engaging activities and stories. The RNLI is a charity that saves lives at sea, and we discover how brave volunteers use lifeboats and rescue equipment to help those in danger. Exploring the history and purpose of lighthouses, children can learn how these towering structures guide ships safely to shore with their powerful lights. Grace Darling's heroic story, where she courageously rescued survivors from a shipwreck in 1838, inspires children with themes of bravery and selflessness.
These topics not only teach important historical facts but also instil values of courage and community service.
